What is the Positional Release Therapy Institute?
The Positional Release Therapy Institute (PRT-i) was established in 2008 to provide evidenced based instruction and certification in PRT for health care professionals and students worldwide. Today, PRT-i not only continues to deliver on this goal, but also to bring this research and instruction to the general public to end their chronic pain and suffering as well as to enhance life and performance.
PRT-i utilizes an integrative and complimentary osteopathic approach to not only their evaluations to determine the root cause of your pain or dysfunction but also in the way therapy is delivered to improve your pain, strength, flexibility, performance and quality of life.
Dr. Speicher continues to push the boundaries in exploration and application of PRT for a variety of clinical conditions through his groundbreaking research at the Institute along with his international research partners.
How Does PRT Work?
PRT is a form of manual medicine that resolves pain and tissue dysfunction. Through positioning the body in positions of comfort, the neurological system is manipulated to interrupt the pain-spasm cycle and reset tissue resting length.
Essentially, PRT is the opposite of stretching. Much like unkinking a knot from a chain necklace, tissues are pushed together, twisted, compressed, and manipulated to take tension off “neurological chain links.” The therapy is pain-free and suited for all ages.

PRT unlocks tissues and joints, decreasing pain and facilitating healing and strengthening—often up to 70-100% on the first treatment.
Research-Based Treatment
According to Dr. Speicher’s Mechanical Coupling Theory, PRT unkinks tissue muscle fibers by decreasing neural activation, eliminating or decreasing pain permanently.
Person-Centred Care
A personal one-on-one comprehensive therapy plan is designed to meet your individual therapy and performance-based goals, often involving our entire team.
